January 19th: Bishop Minerva G. CarcaƱo and conference choir members featured by North State Ecumenical Conference during The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity

The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is celebrated annually during the 3rd week of January every year and the North State Ecumenical Conference hosts an event for this special week. Our California-Nevada Conference is a part of the North State Ecumenical Conference. CUIR members Allen Johnson and Mallory Naake are our Conference liaisons.

Bishop Minerva G. Carcaño will be featured in a panel discussing racism and will give the message during the North State Ecumenical Conference event on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, 2-5pm

An ecumenical virtual choir featuring members of California-Nevada Conference will also offer praise and worship on the 19th.

This year’s theme is “Abide in My Love…You Shall Bear Much Fruit” (John 15:1-17).  We are honored to gather with Christians of many denominations to celebrate our unity and pray for peace and understanding among all peoples.

Please visit https://www.scd.org/wpcu2021 for more information.  Information for how to log on will be posted here a few days before the event.

In this time of so much disunity, let us come together with our Christian siblings to celebrate the ways we, as the Body of Christ, can pray and work for peace and justice in our communities and world.

Akiko Miyake-Stoner serves as the chair for the Committee on Christian Unity and Interreligious Relationships (CUIR).
