Betsy Schwarzentraub Book Parties are back!

Advent, Christmas, Epiphany display Oct. 15 at a Christian Seasons workshop at Newcastle UMC

It’s time to party!  With the worst of pandemic isolation behind us, retired pastor Betsy Schwarzentraub invites people to her long delayed book parties in Auburn and in Elk Grove for Tossed In Time: Steering by the Christian Seasons.

This is a great time for new beginnings, not just for returning to “the way things were.” What priorities do we want to have, to keep from getting too busy with things that weren’t that important to us in the first place? Tossed in Time is a family resource that introduces the ancient worship seasons with basic themes, personal reflection questions, and activities for the home. It also reminds former churchgoers of the meaning of Sunday and how a simple form of Daily Hours can help us live by a rhythm that follows the life of Jesus.

The Auburn event will be on Wed., Nov. 2 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the Auburn Airport, and Elk Grove UMC will host the second one on Sat., Nov. 19 from 2 to 4 p.m.
Both events will include food, fun activities, games and prizes, a reading from the author, and a Q & A session.
